JULY 4th SALUTE TO AMERICA
Dates: July 4, 2022
Durango is a great place to celebrate the 4th of July! We have created a full day of activites for everyone to enjoy. Start the day with a pancake breakfast and fun run, then listen to free concert with a full orchestra. Next go to the Indepence Day Party, then watch the parade, dance to the sounds of the High Rollers, then watch the fireworks.
MUSIC IN THE MOUNTAINS
Dates: July 7, 2022-July 31, 2022
For over 30 years, Music in the Mountains has produced an exceptional summer music festival with musicians of the highest caliber. Join us in 2022 for Music in the Mountains from July 7- July 31. Performances will take place at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College, just minutes from downtown and on a brand new mobile stage in the downtown area!
68th ANNUAL FOUR CORNERS GEM AND MINERAL SHOW
Dates: July 8, 2022-July 10, 2022
Over 60 vendors will offer gems, minerals, jewelry, fossils and more! Kids activities, classes and field trips available. Food trucks on site. $3 daily admission at the door, children under 12 admitted free with adult.
BIG MOUNTAIN ENDURO
Dates: July 16, 2022-July 17, 2022
Racers can expect two big days of racing, including some backcountry stages. Located just 25 miles north of Durango and surrounded by the majestic San Juan Mountains, Purgatory Resort is the destination for an authentic Colorado mountain experience.
LA PLATA COUNTY FAIR
Dates: August 10, 2022- August 14, 2022
For 71 years, generations of families, friends and neighbors have come together to showcase their animals, garden products and other creations, and compete with others for ribbons and awards. It is a time for family groups and friends to enjoy the great talent, great music, good eats and exciting entertainment the Fair offers each year.
DURANGO BLUES TRAIN
Dates: August 25, 2022 – August 27, 2022
Join us for an exciting, moving musical experience of live blues on board the Historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad’s coal-fired, steam-powered train traveling through the spectacular and breathtaking canyons of the San Juan National Forest.
SAN JUAN BREW FEST
Dates: August 27, 2022 – August 28, 2022
The San Juan Brewfest is the largest beer tasting festival in the region! Fifty one breweries will attend, each will bring at least two beers for you to taste. Live music. Food available for purchase.
FIESTA DAYS RODEO
Dates: August 27, 2022 – August 28, 2022
84th annual Durango Fiesta Days, established in 1935, features Queen Contest, Rodeo, Petting Zoo, 4D Barrel Jackpot, Team Roping Slack, BBQ/Pie Auction/Street Dance, Slack, Parade and various local vendors.
